Click on the picture for a close up and note the fine "hairs" on the leaves. | White tea is made the leaves of Camellia sinensis, the tea plant, so it is considered a "pure" tea. Unlike black tea, green tea and oolong tea, it is made from new growth buds and young leaves which are then steamed or fried to prevent oxidation before they are dried. Due to the fact that it is made from the freshest and youngest part of the plant, it contains higher concentrations of antioxidents and catechins, which are both extremely beneficial to the body.
